How bank-linking works

Quitly uses Plaid, the same bank-connection service used by Venmo, Robinhood, Coinbase, Chime, and most major fintech apps. Here’s exactly what happens.

1. You enter your bank login on Plaid’s page, not ours.

When you click “Link bank”, Plaid opens its own secure window. You log in to your bank there. We never see your username or password — they go directly to Plaid, which uses bank-grade encryption.

2. Plaid gives us a read-only token.

After you log in, Plaid hands us a token that lets us read your transaction list. That’s it. We cannot move money, change settings, or initiate transfers. This is the same kind of token used to power Mint, Truebill, Rocket Money, and YNAB.

3. We scan for recurring charges.

Once a day, we pull the last 24 months of transactions and look for repeating amounts at the same merchant. Those are your subscriptions. We never share this data with anyone.

4. You can revoke at any time.

Visit /delete-my-data and we’ll revoke the Plaid token and delete your account in under 24 hours. You can also revoke directly through your bank’s connected-apps page.
